Fort Smith Police and Fire Departments visit Cook Elementary for Community Helper’s Day

Fort Smith, Ark. – The Fort Smith Police Department and Fort Smith Fire Department joined several local agencies at Cook Elementary School for Community Helper’s Day, an event designed to connect young students with those who serve the community.

Pre-K and kindergarten students had the opportunity to meet first responders and learn about their roles in keeping Fort Smith safe.

Participants included Fort Smith Police, Fort Smith Fire, Fort Smith Air Evacuation, Fort Smith EMS, FSPS Police Department, FSPS Child Nutrition, Taylor’s Heavy Duty Towing Inc., Fort Smith Sanitation Department, and Fort Smith City Transit Department.

Cook Elementary expressed appreciation to all volunteers and staff, especially Ms. Priester and Ms. Kimmerly, for organizing what the school described as an amazing and engaging event.

The Fort Smith Police Department later shared on social media that they “always love hanging out with the kiddos,” highlighting their commitment to positive community engagement.
