Fort Smith, Ark. – Mayor George McGill joined Cherokee Nation Principal Chief Chuck Hoskin Jr., Deputy Principal Chief Bryan Warner, members of the Arkansas State Legislature, and Mercy Hospital staff to break ground on Mercy’s new cancer center.
The facility will be located on the main hospital campus at 7001 Rogers Avenue.
The project is supported by an $8 million investment from the Cherokee Nation.
Officials said the new center will expand access to life-saving cancer care and treatment, bringing essential services closer to home for many residents in the region.
