Fort Smith, Ark. – The Fort Smith Police Department is calling on the community to roll up their sleeves for a good cause — and a bit of friendly competition.
The annual Boots & Badges Community Challenge Blood Drive returns on Wednesday, July 16, at the Fort Smith Convention Center Exhibit Hall.
Running from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m., the event invites residents to donate blood and cast a vote for their favorite group of first responders: Fire, EMS, or Law Enforcement. The team with the most votes earns bragging rights — and the coveted challenge trophy.
The initiative is a collaboration with Our Blood Institute (OBI), aiming to address ongoing blood supply shortages while fostering unity between first responders and the public.
Walk-ins are welcome, and all donors will receive a limited-edition Boots & Badges t-shirt, while supplies last, along with a complimentary pass to Magic Springs Theme and Water Park.
“Our teams work together to save lives every day,” said a spokesperson for the Fort Smith Police Department. “This event is a chance for the community to be part of that mission — and have some fun while doing it.”
Appointments can be scheduled online at obi.org.
