Fort Smith, Ark. – The name of Fort Smith Fire Chief Philip Christensen has been added to the Arkansas Fallen Firefighters Memorial, recognizing his service and sacrifice.
Chief Christensen, who joined the Fort Smith Fire Department in 1992, dedicated over 30 years to the fire service before his line-of-duty death on February 11, 2023.
His contributions to the department and the firefighting community continue to shape future generations of firefighters.
The annual memorial service not only pays tribute to fallen firefighters but also honors their families.
Christensen is now the eighth Fort Smith firefighter to have his name inscribed on the memorial, a lasting tribute to those who gave their lives in the line of duty.
