Fort Smith community invited to donate blood and support first responders in Boots & Badges challenge

Fort Smith, Ark. – The Fort Smith Police Department is calling on residents to roll up their sleeves for a good cause — and a little friendly competition — during the upcoming Boots & Badges Community Challenge Blood Drive.

Set for Wednesday, July 16, the event will run from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. at the Fort Smith Convention Center Exhibit Hall. Walk-ins are welcome, and donors will not only help save lives but also cast a vote for their favorite team: Fire, EMS, or Law Enforcement.

The team with the most donor votes will earn local bragging rights and take home the coveted Boots & Badges trophy.

In addition to supporting local emergency responders and strengthening the blood supply, participants will receive a limited-edition Boots & Badges t-shirt (while supplies last) and a free pass to Magic Springs amusement park.

Appointments can be scheduled by visiting obi.org, but walk-in donors are encouraged to attend.

Organizers say the event is about more than competition — it’s an opportunity for the community to come together and make a difference.
