Fort Smith community honors Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. with annual parade

Fort Smith, Ark. – Despite cold temperatures, residents gathered in downtown Fort Smith to participate in and watch the 2026 Martin Luther King Jr. Day Parade, demonstrating continued community support for honoring the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.

The annual parade brought together participants, spectators, and local organizations, all united in celebrating Dr. King’s message of equality, service, and justice. Attendees lined the streets to show their support, many applauding parade entries that reflected the spirit and values of the civil rights leader.
