Fort Smith, Ark. – Fort Smith Solid Waste Services offices and the landfill will be closed Monday, Sept. 7, in observance of Labor Day, with some residential, commercial and industrial collection services operating on a modified schedule.
Monday residential collections will be moved to Wednesday, Sept. 9. Residents whose regular collection day falls on Monday should have their carts ready for pickup by 7 a.m. that day.
Commercial and industrial collections normally scheduled for Monday will instead be collected throughout the remainder of the week.
The City of Fort Smith advised residents and businesses to plan accordingly and account for the holiday schedule when preparing waste for collection.
