Little Rock, Arkansas – A class action complaint was filed on Thursday by the inhabitants of a North Little Rock apartment building who claim that the building’s owner put profits before resident safety, which resulted in a fatal explosion and fire last year.
According to the law company representing them, renters of The Millennia Companies’ Shorter College Gardens Apartments filed the lawsuit on their behalf and the behalf of other tenants who share similarities with them.
The class-action lawsuit seeks to hold The Millenia Companies accountable for their alleged negligence and disregard for the safety and well-being of their tenants,” The Cochran Firm said in a news release. “The lawsuit contends that despite numerous complaints regarding gas smells, pests and no working heat or air, Millennia failed to take appropriate action or to promptly address the concerns, ultimately resulting in a devastating explosion and loss of life.”
When their complex caught fire early on October 4th, three individuals at Shorter College Gardens perished and numerous others were left without a home.
