Fatality reported in Lawrence County as severe weather impacts Arkansas, bringing total number of deaths to three

Arkansas – A fatality has been reported in Lawrence County following the severe weather that has been affecting Arkansas.

The adult male victim, who had been unaccounted for since the previous weekend, was located on Wednesday, April 9, 2025, in the area of U.S. Highway 412 near Walnut Ridge.

The Walnut Ridge Police Department and Lawrence County Sheriff’s Office are currently handling the investigation into the incident.

With this latest death, the total number of reported fatalities due to the severe weather now stands at three. The number of reported injuries remains at 14.

In addition to the Lawrence County death, two other fatalities were reported in Pulaski County. On April 7, 2025, an adult male was found in a submerged vehicle near the area of Rixie Road, following a failed rescue operation on April 5, 2025.

A 5-year-old child also lost their life on Saturday, April 5, 2025, when a tree fell onto their home in the 8500 block of Mabelvale Pike in Little Rock.
