Logan County, Ark. — A Dardanelle man was arrested this week after an alleged shooting incident that occurred nearly seven months ago in New Blaine. Dustin Seiter, 32, was apprehended on January 16, 2025, in Hot Springs and charged with a terroristic act.
The incident dates back to June 19, 2024, when the Logan County Sheriff’s Office (LCSO) responded to a 911 call from a woman who reported being shot at while backing out of her driveway. According to the victim and her passenger, a man driving an SUV fired multiple shots at their vehicle, though they were not injured in the incident.
Authorities later learned that the woman had previously filed a theft report accusing Seiter of stealing two handguns and a sum of money. Deputies discovered five spent .22 caliber shell casings at the scene and observed damage to the victim’s truck consistent with gunfire.
A short time after the shooting, Dardanelle police officers located Seiter’s SUV at a local gas station, but he was not in the vehicle. LCSO investigators obtained a warrant for Seiter’s arrest and discovered that he had violated the terms of his parole. Seiter had reportedly stopped meeting with his parole officer and left town without notifying authorities, prompting the issuance of a parole absconder warrant.
Seiter was eventually located in Hot Springs, where he was arrested by the Garland County Sheriff’s Office. He was transported to the Logan County Detention Center, where he is currently being held.
As of now, no additional details have been released about the ongoing investigation or potential future charges.
