Creekmore Express train returns for 2025 season in Fort Smith

Fort Smith, Ark. – The Creekmore Express, a long-standing family favorite in Fort Smith, is back on track for the 2025 season, offering free rides through the scenic Creekmore Park.

The City of Fort Smith announced the seasonal launch of the beloved miniature train, inviting families and visitors of all ages to enjoy the nostalgic experience beginning May 28.

The train will run through July 27 on a Wednesday-through-Sunday schedule, with extended weekend-only operations continuing from August 2 through September 28.

From May 28 to July 27, the Creekmore Express will operate:

  • Wednesdays through Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

  • Sundays from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.

For the remainder of the season, starting August 2 through September 28, rides will be available on weekends only:

  • Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

  • Sundays from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.

The rides are completely free, with donations welcomed to support the program. No tickets or reservations are needed — passengers can simply hop on and enjoy the ride.
