Construction to widen Interstate 30 to six lanes in Saline County requires flagging operations along South Street Bridge and surrounding roads between 9 p.m. Monday, May 13 and 6 a.m. Tuesday, May 14

Fort Smith, Ark. – According to the statement, ARDOT crews will use flagging operations in the following locations to restripe the pavement:

  • South Street Bridge (Roundabout to Jefferson Street)
  • Frontage road north of I-30 (Highway 229 to the roundabout and the right westbound lane underneath the South Street Bridge)
  • Bell Street (South Street to W Sevier Street)
  • Frontage road south of I-30 (Citizens Drive to South Street)

The public is encouraged to find alternate routes as traffic delays are expected. Please see the attached detour map for additional information.

Traffic will be controlled with flagging operations, message boards, construction barrels, barricades, and signage.

The public is advised to be cautious when traveling in the work zone and watch for slower traffic speeds.
