Fort Smith, Ark. – City officials have recognized Gregory, Fort Smith Transit’s Civil Rights Officer, for his recent graduation from the Community Transportation Association of America Leadership Academy.
His achievement marks a significant step in advancing public transportation leadership and advocacy.
Gregory described his time in the academy as a transformative experience, helping him uncover strengths, identify areas for growth, and develop practical leadership tools.
Throughout the program, he participated in discussions on technical challenges, ethical decision-making, trust-building, and leading through change, all of which he found invaluable.
Beyond his coursework, Gregory also took part in the Legislative Fly-In event in Washington, D.C.
During his visit, he met with Arkansas Representative Steve Womack, Oklahoma Representative Josh Brecheen, Senator James Lankford, and representatives from Senator Markwayne Mullin’s office.
These meetings allowed him to advocate for affordable, accessible, and reliable public transportation, not just in Fort Smith and Arkansas, but across the nation.
Gregory emphasized that every action he took, from attending meetings to navigating Capitol Hill, was done with the goal of supporting individuals who rely on public transit services.
His efforts reflect a broader commitment to ensuring communities have access to essential transportation options.
