Little Rock, Arkansas – Human trafficking Awareness Month is in January.
By organizing a meeting at Arkansas State University, Grow NEA in Jonesboro is contributing to the effort to raise awareness about human trafficking.
The event will take place on Saturday, January 14 at 10 a.m. in the student union auditorium at ASU.
Grow NEA instructs students on both the actions and appearance of human traffickers.
The founder of Grow NEA, Shaunta Johnson said “We also want to give them information on what to do if they do see somebody following them or if they see something like that.”
Johnson added that people traffickers do not exclusively target one particular age group.
Anyone, regardless of age, ethnicity, or gender, can become a victim of human trafficking.
