Arkansas – On March 19, the Arkansas State Police marked a historic milestone, celebrating 90 years of service to the state. On this date in 1935, Governor J.M. Futrell and the Arkansas General Assembly enacted Act 120, officially establishing the Arkansas State Police.
The department has since become an integral part of the state’s law enforcement community, with officers working tirelessly to ensure the safety and well-being of Arkansas citizens. Over the decades, the force has evolved and expanded, but its commitment to public service has remained constant.
In recognition of this milestone, the Arkansas State Police took a moment to honor and thank all the men and women—both past and present—who have served the state with dedication and pride.
The celebration not only acknowledges the achievements of the agency but also looks ahead to continued service to the community.
With the goal of maintaining safety and order across the state, the Arkansas State Police stands ready for the challenges of the next 90 years. Here’s to many more years of service and dedication to the people of Arkansas.
