Arkansas – Arkansas State Police arrested 20-year-old Shawn Jones in relation to a shooting on December 28, 2024, which left one teenager dead and two others injured.
Jones, who had been wanted by the U.S. Marshals Eastern Arkansas Fugitive Task Force for Capital Murder, turned himself in on the night of February 13, 2025.
Jones was transported to the Pulaski County Detention Center where he was booked on several charges: one count of Capital Murder, five counts of Attempted Capital Murder, five counts of committing a Terrorist Act, and one count of Unlawful Discharge of a Firearm from a Vehicle.
The shooting occurred early in the morning on December 28, 2024, when three teenagers were shot while traveling westbound on Interstate 40 near Protho Junction.
A 17-year-old boy from Little Rock died from his injuries, while two other victims, aged 18 and 17, sustained injuries. Two other passengers, 16 and 18 years old, were unharmed.
The investigation into the incident remains ongoing.
