Arkansas – The Arkansas Department of Public Safety, in partnership with the Arkansas State Police Wellness Unit, has announced a new chaplaincy training program designed for certified law enforcement officers and civilian clergy seeking official chaplaincy credentialing.
Scheduled for September 8–12, 2025, the training will take place at the Arkansas State Police Training Facility located at Camp Robinson in North Little Rock.
The program will provide foundational instruction in the core functions of law enforcement chaplaincy, equipping participants to serve effectively in both spiritual and support roles within law enforcement settings.
To qualify, applicants must be affiliated with a local, state, or federal law enforcement agency operating in Arkansas and have a formal recommendation from that agency. In addition, candidates must hold an affiliation and endorsement from a recognized ministry credentialing body.
Those who successfully complete the program will be certified as law enforcement chaplains through the Arkansas Commission on Law Enforcement Standards and Training.
The five-day training will be offered at no cost, with lodging and lunch provided for all participants. The program reflects a growing recognition of the importance of mental, emotional, and spiritual support within law enforcement communities across the state.
