Arkansas – The Arkansas Department of Transportation announced that it would host a Location and Design Public Hearing in Jonesboro on November 20 from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. to present design plans and the environmental assessment for a proposed connector route linking Highway 49 (Red Wolf Boulevard) to Highway 351 (Airport Road). The City of Jonesboro and Arkansas State University partnered with the department to develop the project.
The hearing was scheduled to take place in the gym of Grace Missionary Baptist Church at 3930 Aggie Road in Jonesboro. Attendees would have the opportunity to review project materials, speak with staff, and learn more about the proposed improvements.
According to ArDOT, the project aimed to improve connectivity and mobility in the area, reduce congestion along Aggie Road and Highway 351, enhance pedestrian and bicycle accommodations, and upgrade stormwater drainage systems. A previous public meeting for the proposal was held in June 2024.
Members of the public could view materials and submit written comments through ArDOT’s website, at the District 10 Headquarters in Paragould, or at the Engineering Department inside Jonesboro City Hall. Comments would be accepted until 4:30 p.m. on December 9, 2025.
Comment forms could be submitted online or mailed to the Environmental Division, P.O. Box 2261, Little Rock, AR 72203-2261.
