Little Rock, Arkansas – The Arkansas Repertory Theatre stage adaptation of Neil Simon’s comedy Laughter on the 23rd Floor features live actors.
The production features Judge Reinhold, an Emmy-nominated actor and comedy legend.
Reinhold is most remembered for his performances in the films Beverly Hills Cop, The Santa Clause, and Seinfeld.
Reinhold will be performing on stage for the first time at the Arkansas Repertory Theatre.
In a conversation, Reinhold discussed his function.
“We were looking for something just funny. I wanted to bring something funny,” Reinhold said.
Max Prince, the star of a weekly comic variety program, is the main subject of the play. Max is often at odds with TV producers who believe his humor is too complex for the common viewer.
“The character I play, the lead guy, he’s like a freight train. He’s just like a locomotive, and I am usually the type of guy that just hangs back. It’s great to use that part of myself…”
The performance showcases the crazy activities that go on in the writers’ room.
Neil Simon is the playwright of Laughter on the 23rd Floor. The 1993-written show, which was influenced by Simon’s own writing career, centers on the star and creators of a TV comedy-variety show in the 1950s.
Reinhold also discussed with us the upcoming Beverly Hills Cop film, which will soon be available on Netflix. He also discussed his acting career in Hollywood, including his Seinfeld cameo and other parts.
Laughter on the 23rd Floor will run February 2 to 19.
