Fort Smith, Arkansas – The Fort Smith Police Department is displaying its support for breast cancer awareness throughout October, with officers wearing pink badges and a specially wrapped patrol vehicle helping spread the message across the community.
In a Facebook post, the department highlighted several ways it is participating in breast cancer awareness efforts, including pink ribbons displayed outside its headquarters, pink badges worn by officers and a patrol vehicle wrapped specifically to promote awareness.
The department said the displays serve as reminders of the importance of early detection and regular screenings, while also showing support for people whose lives have been affected by breast cancer.
Police also expressed solidarity with those currently battling the disease, survivors, families supporting loved ones and people remembering those who have died from breast cancer.
The department encouraged community members to help raise awareness, promote conversations about the disease and support those affected by it.
Breast Cancer Awareness Month is observed every October to highlight the importance of screening, early detection, research and support for patients and their families.
