Two juveniles arrested in Fort Smith following series of vehicle break-ins and thefts

Fort Smith, Ark. – Fort Smith Police arrested two juveniles, ages 14 and 17, following an investigation into a series of vehicle break-ins and thefts reported across Fort Smith between Aug. 26 and Aug. 28, 2026.

The two juveniles were taken into custody on Aug. 28 and faced a combined 11 felony charges, according to the Fort Smith Police Department.

The charges included six counts of breaking or entering and five counts of theft of property involving motor vehicles. Police said the investigation also involved the theft of a firearm.

Detectives continued reviewing reports and evidence connected to the incidents, and additional charges were expected as the investigation progressed.

Because both suspects are juveniles, police said their names would not be released.

The investigation remained ongoing as detectives worked to determine the full scope of the reported vehicle break-ins and thefts and review evidence connected to the cases.
