Fort Smith, Ark. – The City of Fort Smith celebrated the naming of Bobby Crabtree Boulevard, recognizing the longtime boxer, business owner, and community member for his lasting contributions to the city.
The ceremony, held on July 21, brought together residents, local leaders, family members, and supporters to honor Crabtree’s legacy with music, food, and reenactors from the True Grit Trail. Community members also shared heartfelt remarks reflecting on his impact both inside and outside the boxing ring.
As part of the tribute, honorary Bobby Crabtree Boulevard street signs were unveiled at Towson Avenue and South L and M Streets. The signs surround Crabtree Paint & Body Shop, the business closely associated with Crabtree and his family.
City officials said the honorary designation recognizes Crabtree’s accomplishments as a successful boxer, respected business owner, and proud Fort Smith resident whose influence has extended throughout the community for decades.
The event celebrated not only Crabtree’s achievements but also his dedication to Fort Smith and the relationships he built through his business and community involvement.
The City of Fort Smith thanked everyone who attended the celebration and helped recognize Crabtree’s lasting legacy, noting that the honorary boulevard will serve as a permanent reminder of his contributions to the city and the people who call it home.
