Fort Smith Police Department joined United Way’s Touch A Truck event at Van Buren High School

Fort Smith, Ark. – The Fort Smith Police Department encouraged community members to visit its Community Relations Unit during United Way’s Touch A Truck event held June 17 at Van Buren High School.

According to the department, Officers Shoptaw and Williams attended the event and welcomed visitors to stop by and learn more about the department’s community outreach efforts.

Attendees had the opportunity to explore the Community Relations vehicle, meet members of the Fort Smith Police Department, and learn about programs and partnerships designed to strengthen connections between law enforcement and the community.

The event took place from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Van Buren High School and featured a variety of vehicles and interactive experiences for families and residents.

The Fort Smith Police Department said it appreciated the opportunity to connect with the public and looked forward to meeting community members throughout the event.
