Fort Smith, Ark. – The City of Fort Smith recognized Peace Officers Memorial Day by honoring local law enforcement officers who lost their lives in the line of duty while serving their communities.
City officials said the Sebastian County Law Enforcement Memorial Service served as a reminder of the courage, commitment, and sacrifice made by officers who gave their lives protecting others.
According to the city, families of fallen officers, law enforcement agencies, and community members gathered during the memorial service to pay tribute to those who made the ultimate sacrifice.
Officials said the service and dedication of the fallen officers will not be forgotten.
