Fort Smith Police Department to host free crime prevention class in partnership with Fort Smith Public Library

Fort Smith, Ark. – The Fort Smith Police Department announced it will host a free crime prevention class aimed at helping families stay informed and prepared when it comes to risks facing youth.

The event, titled “Keeping Kids & Teens Safe: Drugs, Apps, & Other Dangers,” is scheduled for Wednesday, May 27, from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Fort Smith Public Library.

According to the department, the class will cover current drug trends impacting young people, popular apps and online activity that parents should be aware of, and real-world risks affecting children and teenagers.

Officials said the session is designed to provide parents and guardians with practical insight and reliable information to help guide conversations at home and improve awareness.

The event is being presented in partnership with the Fort Smith Public Library and is open to the public at no cost.
