Fort Smith, Ark. – The Fort Smith Police Department held a Crime Prevention Class on April 2, providing parents with information about risks facing youth in the community.
During the session, attendees learned about emerging drug trends and mobile applications that can expose children to potentially dangerous situations.
The discussion focused on helping parents better understand and recognize warning signs in order to protect their children.
Community partners from the Hamilton Center also participated, sharing details about services available to support child victims of physical or sexual abuse.
Officer Scott and Detective Henry, a Juvenile Detective, offered insight into how such cases are handled locally.
They also explained what parents should be aware of when it comes to prevention and early intervention.
Officials said conversations like these helped keep the community informed, prepared, and safer.
