Fort Smith, Ark. – The City of Fort Smith is anticipating an increase in traffic at the local landfill as residents and businesses catch up on waste disposal following last week’s winter weather.
City officials are asking visitors to consider delaying their trips by a day or two if possible to help ease congestion.
For those who need to visit sooner, staff will be available to assist. The city also recommends planning trips during less busy hours to avoid long wait times.
According to officials, the best times to visit are weekdays from 8:00–9:30 AM and 12:30–1:30 PM, and Saturdays from 7:30–9:00 AM.
City leaders thanked residents for their flexibility and patience during this busy period as operations return to normal.
