Arkansas – The Arkansas State Police announced that 31-year-old Brian J. Branscum has been charged with first-degree murder in connection with the death of his father, 68-year-old Russell B. Branscum.
According to investigators, the elder Branscum was found dead inside his home on Highway 110 near Shirley.
Arkansas State Police Criminal Investigation Division special agents later tracked the suspect to a hotel in Hot Springs.
Brian Branscum was taken into custody on Saturday, November 8, 2025, and charged with the murder of his father. The investigation remains ongoing.
