Fort Smith Police Department joined community events supporting Alzheimer’s awareness and family connections

Fort Smith, Ark. – The Fort Smith Police Department participated in two community events on September 20, highlighting its ongoing efforts to connect with residents and support important causes.

Chief Baker, along with Officer Shoptaw and Officer Dietz, joined the Walk to End Alzheimer’s, an event that raises awareness and support for families and loved ones impacted by Alzheimer’s disease.

Their presence emphasized the department’s commitment to standing with those affected by the illness.

At the same time, Officer Williams represented the department at the Celebration of Community Connections, bringing the popular Scribble Car for families and children to enjoy. The event gave kids the opportunity to interact with officers, engage in creative activities, and learn more about resources available in the community.

The department expressed gratitude for the chance to participate in both events, underscoring the importance of building strong relationships with the community.
