Fort Smith, Ark. — The Fort Smith Police Department is investigating a shooting that occurred late Tuesday night in the 5200 block of Johnson Street.
At approximately 10:25 p.m. on July 8, officers responded to reports of gunfire in the area.
Upon arrival, they discovered a victim suffering from what appeared to be a non-life-threatening injury. The individual was transported to a local hospital for treatment.
The department’s Criminal Investigations Division (CID) was called to the scene and has taken over the investigation.
Police have not yet released details about the circumstances of the shooting or any potential suspects.
