Arkansas man charged with murder following early morning shooting in Phillips County

Arkansas – An Arkansas man is facing a charge of First-Degree Murder following a deadly shooting that occurred early Saturday morning in Phillips County, leaving one man dead and another hospitalized.

The Phillips County Sheriff’s Office responded to the incident around 2:15 a.m. on July 5 in the 300 block of Phillips County Road 113. The office requested assistance from the Arkansas State Police Criminal Investigation Division (CID), which has since taken over the investigation.

According to state police, 38-year-old William “Red” Henderson was transported to Helena Regional Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead. A second victim, a 47-year-old man, was taken to a local hospital in a private vehicle and remains in stable condition.

CID Special Agents with Company A arrested 41-year-old Decorick Farr of Poplar Grove. He has been charged with First-Degree Murder and is currently being held at the Phillips County Detention Center.

Authorities have not released details about a motive or the events leading up to the shooting. The investigation remains ongoing.
