Arkansas – Governor Sarah Huckabee Sanders has announced a series of appointments to fill vacancies on quorum courts in several counties across the state. Each appointee will serve as Justice of the Peace for their respective districts, completing terms that extend through December 31, 2026.
In Carroll County, David Blakenship of Eureka Springs has been appointed to serve District 1, filling the seat previously held by Jackie Deaton. In Chicot County, William Borgognoni of Lake Village will now represent District 7, taking over from Ralph C. Jones.
Two appointments were made in Hempstead County. Krystal Goshen of Hope has been named to represent District 2, filling the term of Cherry Stewart, while Joe Raschke, also of Hope, will serve in District 6, succeeding Troy Lerew.
Peyton Murphy of Malvern has been appointed to District 7 in Hot Spring County, replacing Jennifer Corley. In Johnson County, Lewis Hobbs of Clarksville will take over the District 1 seat previously held by Mike Jacobs.
Tarance DePriest of Marshall has been selected to represent District 4 in Searcy County, following Danny Loggins. In Sebastian County, Brandon Morrison of Fort Smith will fill the District 5 seat vacated by John Spradlin.
Kevin Vandiver of Forrest City has been appointed to serve as Justice of the Peace for District 3 in St. Francis County, replacing Margarette Winfrey. In Van Buren County, Paul Wellenberger of Fairfield Bay will represent District 4, succeeding Mary Phillips.
Rounding out the appointments, Gary McCue of McCrory will serve District 5 in Woodruff County, completing the term of Charles Dallas.
The appointments, according to the governor’s office, are intended to ensure continuity and effective local governance in communities across Arkansas.
