Fort Smith Police arrest 25-year-old woman in armed robbery case, suspect was on parole for similar offense

Fort Smith, Ark. – A 25-year-old woman is in custody following an aggravated robbery that took place late Sunday night near North 29th and North 6th Streets, according to the Fort Smith Police Department.

At approximately 11:21 p.m. on June 8, officers responded to a report from a male victim who said he had been approached by a woman driving a silver Ford Flex.

The suspect, later identified as Moriah Burrows, allegedly displayed a firearm and demanded money.

According to police, Burrows then drove the victim to another location where he retrieved cash. After the exchange, she fled the scene with the money and the victim’s wallet.

Following an investigation, Burrows was identified as the suspect and arrested the next day, June 9, around 4:30 p.m. in the 700 block of Rogers Avenue.

She now faces one count of aggravated robbery. Authorities also confirmed that Burrows was on active parole at the time of the incident for a previous aggravated robbery conviction.

The case remains under investigation, and the Fort Smith Police Department stated that additional information may be released as it becomes available.
