Fort Smith, Ark. – As severe weather continues to affect the Fort Smith area, the Fort Smith Police Department is urging residents to avoid driving through flooded streets, especially where barricades are in place. Officials warn that flooding remains a serious and recurring threat during severe weather and ask the public to plan accordingly to prevent emergencies.
“When heavy flooding comes, we see a surge of calls in these areas,” the department stated in a public advisory. “Please review this list and plan your travels accordingly.”
