Minnesota – A Minnesota man has been charged with second-degree murder in connection with the death of the mother of his child, 33-year-old Cristine. The incident occurred at their shared residence in Minnesota.
According to the criminal complaint, the defendant reportedly contacted a family member, confessing to the killing and informing them that he had left their child alone at home. Concerned, the family member notified the police, prompting a welfare check at the residence.
Upon arrival, officers found the child unharmed in the living room. Upstairs, they discovered the victim’s body in a bedroom, partially covered by a bIanket. She had sustained multiple stab wounds to her head, neck, chest, back, and arms. The Medical Examiner’s Office determined that the cause of death was multiple sharp force injuries, with internal damage to her Iungs, kidney, spIeen, diaphragm, and coIon.
Minnesota authorities quickly learned that the defendant (SEE PHOTO) had a history of domestic vioIence against the woman, including prior convictions for domestic assauIt and violations of no-contact orders. Friends of the victim reported that she had expressed fear for her safety, with one friend recalling a message from her stating that if she or her daughter ended up dead or missing, the defendant would be responsible.
Following the incident, the defendant fled to his girlfriend’s apartment, where he was arrested by a SWAT team.
During an interview with investigators, he reportedly admitted to the killing, stating that he confronted the woman about alleged infideIity and that the argument escalated, leading him to stab her.
He expressed remorse during the interview, admitting he should never have done what he did to her. He described the attack as brutal and said he felt deeply regretful, acknowledging that the victim suffered greatly.
When asked how the incident unfolded, he reportedly told investigators that the victim had mistreated him for years, accusing her of cheating, manipulating, and lying to him. He claimed he had recently set up a recording device in their home, which allegedly captured the woman having a se-ual encounter with a married man.
Davis said he confronted her about the situation, and the argument escalated into a physical altercation. According to his account, the stabbing began while they were on the bed, and the victim eventually rolled off. He admitted to watching her as she took her final breaths before covering her body with a blanket.
Following the fatal attack, the defendant said he lay next to their child for about 30 minutes until she fell asleep. He then left the residence, drove to a park, and discarded the victim’s cellphone by throwing it out of the car window, as stated in the affidavit.
