Fort Smith, Ark. – Officers from the Fort Smith Police Department recently teamed up with a local church to deliver meals to residents in need.
Captain Grubbs, Officer Williams, and Officer Shoptaw visited Allied Gardens Apartments as part of the department’s community outreach efforts, handing out sack lunches and engaging with community members.
The meals were provided by St. Bartholomew’s Episcopal Church, whose ongoing partnership with law enforcement helps support Fort Smith residents.
Officers expressed gratitude for the church’s generosity, emphasizing the importance of building connections and fostering trust within the community.
The department continues to prioritize community engagement, using initiatives like meal deliveries to strengthen relationships with residents.
Officers say small gestures, such as providing food and conversation, play a significant role in creating a safer and more united Fort Smith.
