Arkansas – Governor Sarah Huckabee Sanders ordered the closure of state office buildings across Arkansas on Wednesday, February 19, due to inclement winter weather.
The decision was made out of an abundance of caution, with exceptions for critical operations.
State employees able to telework were encouraged to do so, while agencies were permitted to implement liberal leave policies for employees who could not work remotely.
The closure aimed to ensure the safety of state workers amid hazardous travel conditions.
