Fort Smith, Ark. – The Fort Smith Police Department will host a crime prevention class on February 27, focusing on youth and teenage safety.
Part of a new monthly Crime Prevention Series, the event will provide parents and community members with key insights into risks affecting young people.
The session will take place from 6 to 7 p.m. in the FSPD Community Room, with attendance limited to 50 participants.
Experts from the department will discuss common drugs, dangerous phone applications, and real-life scenarios that parents should be aware of.
Officer Blake Scott from SHIELD Our Youth and detectives from the Special Investigations Unit specializing in juvenile crimes will lead the discussion.
The Crime Prevention Series aims to educate the public on safety topics through small-group settings, allowing for interactive discussions and questions.
