Maumelle, ARK – A suspect is in custody following a shooting in a Maumelle neighborhood on Tuesday afternoon. Authorities responded to a call reporting a shooting at Millstone Cove, where they discovered a victim with a non-life-threatening gunshot wound. The victim was quickly transported to a local hospital for treatment, and their condition is currently stable.
Maumelle Police Department (MPD) officials launched an investigation into the incident, which led to the identification of a suspect. With assistance from the Conway Police Department, officers located and arrested the suspect, identified as Demarcus Wilson.
Wilson, 27, faces multiple charges, including first-degree battery, committing a terroristic act, and unlawful discharge of a firearm from a vehicle. Authorities have not disclosed further details regarding the motive for the shooting.
The investigation is ongoing, and MPD officials continue to gather information related to the incident.
