LITTLE ROCK — Medical marijuana sales in Arkansas have surpassed 5,000 pounds, according to the state Department of Finance and Administration.
Department spokesman Scott Hardin said Friday that about $33 million worth of medical marijuana had been sold since the first dispensary opened in May.
Sixteen dispensaries are open. The first dispensary in Little Rock could be opening soon. Hardin said the state plans to inspect Harvest House of Cannabis, formerly known as Natural State Wellness, sometime this week. The dispensary is located at 900 S. Rodney Parham Road.
Arkansas voters approved medical marijuana in 2016.
