58-year-old man arrested, charged with first-degree murder after police discover woman dead in her home on South 11th Street

Fort Smith, Ark. – A local man has been arrested and charged with first-degree murder after police discovered a woman dead in her home early Sunday morning.

Officers responded to a residence in the 1500 block of South 11th Street at approximately 2:55 a.m. on March 16, where they found 65-year-old Dorothy Edmonds deceased.

Authorities confirmed that Edmonds had suffered head trauma consistent with foul play.

Over the following two days, investigators identified 58-year-old Marvin Davis as a suspect.

On March 18, Davis was interviewed and subsequently arrested.

He is currently being held at the Sebastian County Adult Detention Center on a $250,000 cash bond.

The investigation remains ongoing, and authorities have stated that additional information will be released as it becomes available.
