46-year-old man arrested on burglary and theft charges in Wheeler Avenue industrial equipment case

Fort Smith, Ark.  – Fort Smith Police have arrested a suspect in connection with the recent theft of industrial equipment from a local business.

William John McCoy, 46, was taken into custody without incident on Thursday, June 26, after detectives linked him to the theft of two industrial water-cooling coils.

The coils, worth nearly $7,000, were reported stolen during the early morning hours of June 24 from a business in the 3900 block of Wheeler Avenue.

Following a detailed investigation, authorities were able to identify the suspect vehicle involved and subsequently arrest McCoy.

He is currently being held at the Sebastian County Adult Detention Center and faces charges of commercial burglary and theft of property.

Police say the investigation is still ongoing, and additional information may be released as it becomes available.
