Texas – A Texas parent, 29-year-old Jeron, was ordered to spend the next fifty six years behind bars after pleading guilty to the murders of his child, Nadla, and her mother, Nanci. The plea agreement reduced the charges from capitaI murder to murder, sparing the defendant a potential life sentence without parole.
The case unfolded in Oct. 2022, when Texas authorities responded to an assault report at a local moteI. Officers found the woman unconscious; she was transported to a local hospital where she was pronounced dead. The defendant (SEE PHOTO) claimed he had placed the woman in a chokehoId to prevent her from harming their child.
Following the woman’s death, TExas authorities discovered that 2-year-old child was missing. She had last been seen several days before her mother’s body was found.
Investigators found bIood-stained items in the defendant’s apartment, including a mattress hidden in a closet and a bIoody rag on the bathroom floor. The defendant was uncooperative, initially claiming he did not know the child’s whereabouts and suggesting her mom had taken her.
Further investigation revealed incriminating evidence. The defendant‘s internet search history included queries such as “how long it takes for a dead body to smell”. Photos of the child with facial injuries were also found on his phone.
Several months later, human remains were recovered and six days later, the Institute of Forensic Sciences confirmed the remains belonged to the 2-year-old victim.
The plea deal in June 2025 led to a fifty six year prison sentence, with eligibility for parole after serving half the term, Texas authorities reported.
