Fort Smith, Ark. – Fort Smith Police reported that a 16-year-old male was arrested on Friday, Aug. 29, in connection with an online threat directed at a Northside High School student.
According to investigators, the arrest took place at a residence in Van Buren following a thorough investigation.
The juvenile was charged with one count of threatening to commit an act of mass violence on school property.
Authorities credited the cooperation of the United States Marshals Service, Fort Smith Public Schools Police Department, Van Buren Police Department, and the Sebastian County Prosecutor’s Office with helping bring the case to a swift and peaceful conclusion.
